Care Guide

We believe in the beauty of imperfection. For example, our products sometimes show small irregularities in shape, texture or color. These imperfections are the result of the artisanal handicrafts that are part of the production process. Also, our materials can take on a certain natural patina after prolonged use. Such marks from use show time and life. Let’s not just throw away the objects we surround ourselves with every day when a corner breaks off. On the contrary, we should cherish them for a lifetime. With the right care, our objects can last for generations.

Stoneware

Stoneware is a widely used material for tableware and decorative objects. Given the manual work involved in our production process, small differences in color and irregularities often appear in the glaze. In our opinion, these imperfections contribute to the unique appearance of the stoneware. Every pot is different. Our stoneware can be cleaned in the dishwasher. We recommend the use of regular washing tablets (and not 3-in-1 tablets) and a temperature of up to 65°C. Anti-scale salts (such as regeneration salt) and excessive temperatures damage the glaze. Do not place the tableware too close to each other in the dishwasher to avoid minor vibration and collision damage that often leads to the beginning of larger breakage. We also recommend that stoneware and metal (such as pans and cutlery) be kept separate in the machine. Indeed, dark scratches may appear on the stoneware after contact with metal. For the maintenance of decorative objects made from stoneware, we recommend that you dust them with a damp cloth.

Porcelain

Porcelain is a high-quality and refined material that is very scratch-resistant. Since our products are often finished by hand, imperfections in the color and glaze can occur. As far as we are concerned, they contribute to the uniqueness and beauty of the object. Our porcelain can be cleaned in the dishwasher. We recommend the use of regular washing tablets (and not 3-in-1 tablets) and a temperature of up to 65°C. Anti-scale salts (such as regeneration salt) and excessive temperatures damage the glaze. To avoid minor vibration and collision damage that often leads to the beginning of larger breakage, do not place the tableware too close together in the dishwasher. We also recommend that porcelain and metal (such as pans and cutlery) be kept separate in the machine. Indeed, dark scratches may appear on the porcelain after contact with metal. For the maintenance of decorative objects made of porcelain, we recommend that you dust them with a damp cloth.

Wood

Wood is a natural material that develops a strong patina over time, which we at HOME STUDYO very much appreciate. Because the pattern of the grain differs with each piece of wood, no product will look exactly the same. This gives a wooden object a certain uniqueness. The daily maintenance of wooden items consists of dusting with a soft microfibre cloth. Remove any stains with a damp cloth and mild, colorless soap. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or abrasives, as they will damage the wood lacquer. For wooden accessories, such as cutlery and boards, hand washing is recommended. Use a mild detergent or just water. Avoid immersing the wood completely and allow it to dry naturally, preferably upright, after washing. Please note that wood is not dishwasher-proof. To avoid discoloration and distortion, do not leave wooden objects in direct sunlight.
